Cancer Survivor Manisha Koirala writes about "Arduous Journey Of Treatment"

Actress and cancer survivor Manisha Koirala, on the occasion of the National Cancer Awareness Day, took to Instagram handle and wrote about “arduous” journey of treatment and “hope” in an inspiring post.

She shared some throwback pictures of herself and captioned, “On this National Cancer Awareness Day, I want to wish everyone who is going through this arduous journey of cancer treatment, a lot of love and success. ‘I know the journey is tough, but you are tougher than that.’ I want to pay my respects to those who succumbed to it and celebrate it with those who conquered it.”

“We need to spread the awareness on the disease and all the stories that are filled with hope need to be told and retold. Let’s be kind to ourselves and to the world. I’d pray for everyone’s health and wellbeing,” she added.

Anushka Sharma: Worried about hating my own body after pregnancy

Actor-producer Anushka Sharma and her husband Virat Kohli welcomed their first child, Vamika in January this year.

In a recent interview with Grazia, she opened up about embracing body positivity and said, “Only a week ago, I was telling a friend how afraid I was because of this pressure that’s thrust upon women to look a certain way, even before they become mothers, before they get pregnant, and definitely after they’ve had a baby. Despite being somebody who is fairly self-aware, I was worried. I kept thinking – am I going to hate my body?”

The actress added, “I’ve realised that it’s a state of mind, it has nothing to do with how you look,” she said. The actress added, “My body’s not as it used to be; it’s not as toned as it was. And I’m working towards it because I like to be fit. Having said that, I am so much more comfortable in my skin today than I was before, even when I had that perfect body.”

She further stated, “I don’t do that anymore. I click a picture and I post it without obsessively scrutinising how I look. You have to be accepting of the body that’s done something so profound and miraculous for you. I’d never want my daughter to grow up with that sense of lacking that we’re always made to feel as women. Ultimately, it’s all about perspective. The girl who has the ‘perfect’ body can still not feel great while the girl who doesn’t have a body that aligns with societal beauty standards can still, be immensely confident.”

Hina Khan: I chose mental health over my physical appearance

Television actress Hina Khan made headlines with her new Instagram post. She posted a mirror selfie describing, “work-in-progress” body.

She captioned, “Had put on some kilos in these months for obvious reasons and I really did not pay attention to how many kilos I put on… My mental health was way more important and I just wanted to be, wanted to do things that make me happy. Sometimes let yourself be, enjoy the little things. Do what you like without thinking about what people will say or how I am looking. After all one needs to be in the right frame of mind to do anything in life. And I chose mental health, my well-being, over my physical appearance. Now here I am, back in action.”
