Being pregnant is one of the most beautiful things in one’s life but also it may turn complicated if you are not careful with your lifestyle choices. All you need to do is be cautious with your food habits and prefer well-balanced meals all the time. Do not eat raw seafood and also avoid under-cooked foods especially meat because of the risk of contamination.

We recommend you to avoid food consisting of bacteria that can cause infections because they might lead to stillbirth and infection in new born. Below is the list that you can avoid when pregnant. Read on.

1. Stay away from Alcohol: You should definitely stay away from alcohol at any cost because it can lead to low birth weight, premature baby, birth defects, intellectual disability and others.
2. Reduce cholesterol intake: Always keep an eye on your cholesterol intake by limiting it to 300 mg or even less than that every day.
3. Avoid caffeine: it is widely advisable to avoid caffeine in your food when you are carrying a baby because there will chances of miscarriage especially in the first trimester. Limit your caffeine intake to fewer than 200 mg per day during pregnancy. Instead drink lot of water, fruit juices and milk for the good health of the baby.
4. Big No to Saccharin: During pregnancy, do not take saccharin because it can cross the placenta and may remain in fetal tissues.
5. Less fat, please!: You should decrease the amount of fat in your daily routine to 30 per cent or less.
6. Say no to mercury: Avoid eating fish that contains high levels of mercury during pregnancy because it can cause brain damage and delay in the growth of the baby. Also, avoid eating raw fish.
