Vietnam: Man jailed for 5 years for spreading Covid-19

Vietnam jailed a man for five years for spreading the Covid-19 by flouting the rules of quarantine. The man has been identified as 28-year-old Le Van Tri.

He was found guilty of “spreading dangerous infectious diseases”.

“Tri travelled back to Ca Mau from Ho Chi Minh City … and breached the 21-day quarantine regulations,” the state-run Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

The country has sentenced two other people to 18-month and two-year suspended jail terms on similar charges.
