  1. Using teeth as a tool: Are you THAT friend in the group who is popular for cracking open packets, bottles, and other things up with your teeth? The brave show you have been putting might be damaging your teeth. Using your teeth as a tool may put them at risk of cracking, chipping, and breaking and therefore must be avoided.
  2. Biting nails: Be it due to anxiety or stress, biting nails is not an uncommon habit. Experts have associated this habit with mental health disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder. Apart from being unhygienic, biting the nails can cause teeth damage and jaw dysfunction.
  3. Grinding teeth: A habit of clenching your jaw or grinding your teeth when angry or anxious can lead to the weakening of the jaw, chipping of teeth, and other issues. This can be both a conscious and subconscious activity.
  4. Munching on ice: Do you like to finish off your fizzy beverages by munching on the leftover ice chunks? It is time to change your habit to prevent damaging your teeth. Eating ice can trigger sensitivity and harm the tissues and nerves of the teeth.
  5. Going rough on the teeth while brushing: Brushing the teeth correctly is important to ensure thorough cleaning of the teeth. However, thoroughly does not mean rough. Brushing the teeth must be done gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush for best results. Aggressive brushing can cause damage to the gums and teeth leading to irritation, inflammation, and reddening.
