Veganism:

Veganism is a way of living that attempts to exclude all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty, whether for food, clothing or any other purpose.

Vegan diet:

Vegan diet is plant based diet. It is devoid of all animal products- Including meat, eggs and dairy. Vegan diet is generally low in protein. In certain individuals, it can cause blood sugar swings.

In vegan diet there is also a risk of over consuming carbohydrates. Mostly in vegan diet legumes are often consumed for protein, but it is very high in carbohydrates.

Benefits:

  1. It promotes weight loss
  2. It helps in lowering risk of type 2 diabetes
  3. It reduces risk of heart disease by lowering cholesterol levels
  4. It lower your chances of getting certain types of cancer, such as colon cancer
