Fingernails are composed of laminated layers of a protein called keratin. Keratin is grown from the area at the base of the nail under your cuticle. If the fingernails are without pits or grooves and are smooth then they are healthy. Sometimes fingernails develop harmless vertical ridges that run from cuticles to the tip of the nail. These vertical ridges tend to become more prominent with age.

DO’S:

  1. Keep your nails dry
  2. Practice good nail hygiene
  3. Use moisturizer
  4. Apply a protective layer

  1. Don’t bite your nails
  2. Don’t pull off hangnails
  3. Don’t use harsh nail care products
  4. If you have any nail problem than don’t ignore consult your doctor or dermatologist
