Covid-19 in India: Kerala fights hard, Delhi and Maha also see surge

The deadly fear of Covid-19 third wave is gripping India amidst the rise of Coronavirus cases. Yet again, Kerala is fighting hard against the rising new cases. The public health experts blaming the surge on state government’s “carelessness” and “unwise” decisions.

On Thursday, Kerala registered 30,007 fresh Covid-19 cases, slightly lower than Wednesday’s 31,445 cases.

Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla reviewed the situation and the steps taken to contain the alarming graph of the virus in the state.

On the other hand, Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope said that, if and when the third wave hits, it is estimated that around 60 lakh people will be affected. He added that the state has started preparing to tackle the third wave of Covid-19.

“Kerala is contributing to more than 51 per cent of the cases today,” Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said.
