For sure, the coronavirus has shaken the world and taught us to wear masks in order to survive. But with face masks, comes the skin problems. So, we have listed out the best precautionary measures you can take to protect your skin. Give a quick read.

1. Wear the right kind of mask. Prefer the masks with at least two layers of fabric, which is soft, natural and breathable one such as cotton.

2. Dry skin and chapped lips are common face mask skin problems. Protect your lips by applying petroleum jelly.

3. Make up will clog your pores and create breakouts beneath your skin. So, avoid make up whenever you are wearing the mask. If you think makeup is necessary, use only products labeled “non-comedogenic” or “won’t clog pores.”

4. Cleanse and moisturize your face every day without fail. When washing your face, use a mild, fragrance-free cleanser.

5. Remove your mask for 15-minutes for every four hours. Of course, do it only when you feel it is safe.

6. In case if you are using the cloth mask, make sure to wash it every day so that it can remove oils and skin cells that collect inside the mask, which could lead to a skin problem.

7. Cut back certain products you apply on your face, if you experience any irritation.

8. Even after following all the necessary steps if you face issues, consult the dermatologist without much delay.
