Two Telangana villages self-impose lockdown
Amidst the spike in the Covid-19 cases, two villages in Telangana’s Jagtial have self-imposed lockdown to contain the spread of infection. Endapally and Maddutla, located in Velgatoor Zone Endapally have announced a 15-day lockdown.
Violators may face a fine of Rs 5,000 and a fine of Rs 1,000 was also be imposed on those not following physical distancing and wearing masks.
Endapally village registered 12 Covid-19 cases and one death this week. Another village, Maddutla, under the Malayalam zone, registered 33 Covid-19 cases.
The Gram Panchayat of these villages passed a resolution imposing lockdown to control the spread of the infection and avoid any further crisis. All hotels and shops in the villages are allowed to run from 7 am to 9 am. Those not adhering to the new rules will have to pay a Rs 5,000 fine.
