On Friday, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) said that the devotees arriving for darshan at the Tirumala Tirupati temple should be fully vaccinated or produce negative Covid-19 certificates before entering the temple.

The TTD also said no Sarva Darshan tickets will be issued to devotees from September 26. Pilgrims will now have to apply online to get darshan tickets, the authorities said on Friday.

“Sarva Darshan is the free darshan wherein the pilgrims wait for their turn to catch a glimpse of the Lord…,” TTD’s official website said.

TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy said, “8,000 Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens will be released online on September 25 at 9 am for the period from September 26 to October 31.”

He added, “The TTD has taken this decision as the overcrowding at SSD token issue centres earlier had allegedly become a source of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic during the second wave.”
