Mumbai: Vaccination for pregnant women from tomorrow
Starting from tomorrow, Mumbai is all set to vaccinate the pregnant women against Covid-19. The Mumbai civic body has organised a special drive for the same. The vaccination will be conducted at one of 35 centres across the city, at which staff have been given special training for this purpose.
Till date, there were many speculations around the vaccination for pregnant women. But now, the time has come! However, many activists and members of the public were against the restriction.
Even in May, lactating women were eligible for the vaccine but pregnant women were not. The centre said that this was due to a lack of safety and efficacy data since clinical trials for vaccines do not typically include pregnant women as participants.
