Mask usage drastically declining: Health Ministry
On Friday, the Union Health Ministry said that the overall usage of masks in India has seen a drastic decline ever since Covid-related restrictions were relaxed.
The ministry added that there is a projected dip of 74 per cent in mask usage in the country post the lockdown.
While addressing a media briefing in New Delhi, Joint Secretary (health), Lav Agarwal said, “Analysis shows a projected decline in the use of face masks as we resume activities. We should incorporate the use of facemasks in our lives as a new normal.”
“We are seeing a projected decline on 74 per cent in mask usage. We need to address this and adopt wearing masks as a new normal in our lives,” he said.
