Maharashtra govt to loan Covid vaccines from private hospitals

Amid shortage of Covid-19 vaccines, the government of Maharashtra has decided to loan doses doses from private hospitals to fill the gap.

NCP spokesperson and cabinet minister Nawab Malik said the vaccination momentum in the state has been disturbed as the Centre is not providing enough vaccines to the state.

Nawab Malik said, “There are a number of vaccine centres that are shut, owing to the shortage of vaccines. We are not getting as much as we had demanded. At least 20 lakh citizens need the second dose. Once the new vaccine doses come, these people will be given the doses first, which means others cannot be given the vaccine. And that’s why the centres have to be shut.”
