Kerala on alert: 13 Zika virus cases found

Amidst the wide spread of Coronavirus, South Indian state Kerala is embroiling with the increasing cases of Zika virus. So far, the state has registered 13 cases and the National Institute of Virology (NIV) has confirmed the same.

With this, the state has been put on alert.

As per the government, “Of the 19 samples sent to the National Institute of Virology, 13 were found to be positive for Zika virus.”

The first case with the mosquito-transmitted disease was diagnosed in a 24-year-old pregnant woman on Thursday. Since then the cases are on a rise.

The symptoms are very much similar to dengue and they include fever, rashes and joint pain.
