Coronavirus variant N440K is prevalent since last year in South India and it is diminishing, says scientists at the CSIR – Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB).

The CCMB advisor Rakesh Mishra said that the N440K strain, which was found in 20 – 30 per cent of samples in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana will fade away in the coming weeks.

We need strictly follow the below mentioned steps as the new variant is known as the ‘Double Mutant’ or Indian variant’, is steadily becoming a dominant variant of corona.

4. Do proper sanitation

According to reports, the new strain first discovered in Kurnool, is considered to be at least 15 times more virulent than the earlier ones, and may be even stronger than the Indian variants of B1.617 and B1.618.
