Covid-19 second wave: Delhi announces lockdown

On Monday morning, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal announced the curfew by holding a press conference and called it a ‘Mini Lockdown’.

The government has announced the complete lockdown in the capital to contain the spread of covid-19 and also in the view of the record rise in the Covid-19 cases. The lockdown starts on Monday (April 19, 10 PM) night until Monday (April 26, 6 AM) morning.

Shockingly, on Sunday, nearly 25,462 new cases were registered.

He also tweeted, “Del facing acute shortage of oxygen. In view of sharply increasing cases, Del needs much more than normal supply. Rather than increasing supply, our normal supply has been sharply reduced and Delhi’s quota has been diverted to other states. OXYGEN HAS BECOME AN EMERGENCY IN DEL.”
