Technique developed to treat Cushing’s syndrome

Cushing syndrome occurs when your body is exposed to high levels of the hormone cortisol for a long time. To be clear, it is a result of a tumour in the pituitary gland which is less than 5mm in size and shockingly cannot be located.

And for the first time in the world, the PGI doctors have been able to develop a technique to locate the same and also have published the patent as well.
With this, the patients can get the tumour removed without having removed other glands. The technique is named – Ga-68 CRH PET-CT.

Usually, the endocrinologists used to opt for an expensive and invasive procedure but with the recent development, the doctors doesn’t have to be go with the invasive technique.
