Is consumption of Red wine is good or bad for heart?

One or two glasses of wine in a day is safe, drinking more then that everyday can have adversely affect heartbeat and there can also be risk of raising arrhythmia. There are also certain long-term side effects like hypertension and increase in high cholesterol.

Some of the side effects of wine consumption in long-term:

  1. Weaker heart: when someone drinks alcohol uncontrollably, then it becomes a habit that triggers alcoholic cartiomyopathy, which is a state where heart muscles become thin and weak due to which there will not be a proper pumping blood into heart.
  2. Hypertension risk: High consumption of alcohol cause raise blood pressure, which can cause conditions like crisis or may up risk of stroke or peripheral vascular disease.
  3. Irregular heartbeats: Drinking more wine can have adversely affect heartbeats thereby raising arrhythmia risk.
