After black and white fungus, Yellow fungus has hit headlines and is sending shivers down the spine. Already, nearly 8000 cases of black fungus have been registered in India so far. As of now, the first case of yellow fungus has been found in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
What is Yellow fungus?
According to experts, the yellow fungus is much scarier and unlike the two other infections, it impacts the internal organs. Not just that it causes pus leakage, slow healing of wounds. In worst cases, it can also cause organ failure and acute necrosis.
It is important to note that the most fungal infections begin due to unsanitary conditions like contaminated resources, poor oxygen use, poor hygiene, overuse of steroids etc.
Symptoms of Yellow fungus:
- Lethargy
- Poor or no appetite
- Weight loss
- Sunken eyes
What is the treatment?
Yellow fungus is very new and also very rare. Experts are giving Amphotericin B injection to fight it as it is an antifungal medicine.
