Covid-19 in India: 2.17 lakh new cases, 1185 deaths in 24 hours
Undeniably, the second wave of Covid-19 is creating shock waves across the country with new cases being registered every day. That too, at an alarming rate. In the last 24 hours, India registered 1185 deaths and with this, the country’s death count reached to 1,74,308.
The new cases in the deadly second wave took the total number of cases to over 1.42 crore.
Also, this is the second straight day that the country is reporting over two lakh cases and the sixth straight day of over 1.5 lakh daily cases.
This week, India overtook Brazil to become the country with the second-highest number of cases worldwide, after the United States.
