The first and second waves of Coronavirus have already created havoc in the country. Shockingly, the fear of black fungus among Covid-19 patients is increasing each day. Currently, there are 31,216 cases and 2109 deaths have been registered. In other words, the cases of black fungus have grown over 150 per cent over the last three weeks.

The increase in the cases is driven, in part, by severe shortage of the key drug – Amphotericin-B – to treat affected patients.

Maharashtra stands first in the list with 7057 cases and 609 deaths, followed by Gujarat with 5,418 cases and 323 deaths.

Rajasthan is the third state with 2,976 cases but Karnataka occupies third spot with 188 deaths.

Uttar Pradesh has reported 1744 cases and 142 deaths while the Delhi has logged 1,200 cases and 125 deaths.
At 96, Jharkhand has the least number of cases, while West Bengal with 23 has the lowest deaths.
