What is quadriparesis ?

Quadriparesis:

Quadriparesis is a condition in which you have muscle weakness in all four of your limbs (both legs and both arms). It refers to paralysis from the neck down, including the trunk,legs and arms.this condition is typically caused by an injury to the spinal cord that contains the nerves that transmit messages of movement and sensation from the brain to the other body parts of the body. It is also called tetraparesis, this weakness and diminished mobility can be temporary or permanent.

Other symptoms may include:

  1. Limp muscles that lack firmness (flaccid quadriparesis)
  2. Inability to walk
  3. Loss of bladder control
  4. Unusual stiffness or tightness of the muscles (spastic quariplegia)
  5. Lack of motor control
  6. Depressed reflexes
